In 1831, a newspaper of Barcelona wanted to implement the technique of lithography for congratulating their reader on Christmas. Quickly they accustomed to congratulate the parties by one of these lithographs spread. From 1870 the color was introduced in the congratulations. The preparation of the first Christmas is usually attributed to London Sir Henry Cole, who in 1843, lacking time to write greeting cards to friends, commissioned a print a card with the message “Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.” Since 1870, the use of these cards became widespread, with the image of Santa Claus as a protagonist.
